Common questions about permits and projects.
What is an after-the-fact permit?
An after-the-fact permit is a building permit obtained for work that was already completed without one. The building department reviews the work and may require inspections, and in some cases corrections, before it is approved. Cielo Construction Group prepares the application and coordinates the inspections so the work ends up properly documented.
Why do open or expired permits matter when selling or refinancing?
Open or expired permits can turn up in a municipal permit search and delay a closing, and buyers, lenders or title companies often want them resolved first. We research the permit history, schedule any remaining inspections and work with the building department to get the permits closed.
